Techland recently announced that the French version of Dying Light: The Beast, scheduled to be released in the summer of 2025, will use a new voice actor for the protagonist Kyle Crane. Benoît DuPac, who voiced the original game in 2015, is not returning.
The studio explained that this move is in line with the character’s “more resilient and sophisticated” growth trajectory, emphasizing that this “difficult decision after long-term consideration” is most in line with the needs of the game and character inheritance.
“In the upcoming Dying Light: Trapped Beasts in the summer of 2025, Kyle Crane will appear in a new look. This hardened survivor will show a more courageous and tough fighting posture to meet the toughest challenges of his life. In order to perfectly represent the transformation of the character, after a long period of careful consideration, we decided to use a new voice actor to interpret Kyle Klein. It was also confirmed that the English version would still be voiced by Roger Craig Smith. Although the reason for the role change was not specified, it has been more than ten years since Dupac last played the role.
