As a project jointly developed and produced by game developer Capcom and Legendary Pictures, Capcom will be involved throughout the process to ensure fidelity to the original. The plot is still in the confidential stage, but Capcom’s in-depth involvement indicates that the film will highly restore the essence of the game.
According to industry insiders, Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo may play the two protagonists of Long and Ken respectively, Roman Reigns may play the hero, and Jason Momoa is expected to become the electric lion Blanca.
The cumulative global sales of the Street Fighter series have exceeded 55 million copies, after previous film and television adaptations include the 1994 version starring Shange Yunton, and the 2009 Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, directed by the Phillip brothers.
