Here’s how to turn off the automatic update feature after Google Chrome downloads and installs: 1. Close via Service Manager: Use the ‘Windows+R’ shortcut key to open the ‘Run’ dialog box, enter ‘service.msc’ and press Enter to open the ‘Service’ Manager. In the Name list, find and double-click on the following two services: ‘GoogleUpdater InternalService’ and ‘GoogleUpdater Service’. In the service properties window that pops up, click the “Stop” button, then set the “Startup Type” to “Disabled”, click “Apply” and close the “Service” manager. 2. Close via Task Scheduler: Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box, type taskschd.msc and press Enter to open Task Scheduler.
