Amazon is producing a live-action series of “God of War”, and the series operator Ronald R. D. Moore revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 that the project is still in the script stage and is expected to begin filming next year. He said the team wanted to preserve the “spiritual core” of the original as much as possible during the adaptation.

Moore spoke highly of game director Corey Balog, calling him a “genius” and said that Balog could clearly explain the background setting, mythological logic and logic of the entire God of War seriesplotDetail. “As a series operator, I can usually remember the entire season in my head, but what Corey remembers is a whole mythological universe, and even the meaning behind the puzzles, props, and motives is amazing.”
