The development team of Light and Shadow: Expedition 33 flew to Tokyo to talk to the core members of the Final Fantasy series. Sandfall Interactive studio members and Square Enix developers not only exchanged ideas, but also staged a “two-way rush” between gamers.
The “Expedition 33” team visited SE headquarters and met with “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth” director Naoki Hamaguchi and “Seiken Densetsu: Visions” director Ryosuke Yoshida. Naoki Hamaguchi called the meeting a “collision of creative visions and ideas” on social platforms.
For Light and Shadow: Expedition 33, which draws inspiration from classic JRPGs, this is undoubtedly a complete reincarnation. Perhaps the next “Final Fantasy” will learn from the dynamics of the workTurn-basedCombat system – especially at a time when SE is considering returning to turn-based roots. If Final Fantasy 9 Remake adopts a similar design in the future, players will not be surprised.
The Sandfall team’s trip to Tokyo didn’t stop there. Broche and others were also invitedVisited Hideo Kojima’s studio, and signed two games for the game master, which shows Kojima’s favor for the work.
