In June, Konami announced that a remake of Silent Hill 1 was in development, with Bloober Team, the developer of Silent Hill 2: Remake. Although it was just announced this year, my uncle broke the news that “Silent Hill 1: Remake” has actually been secretly developed for three years.
After the release of Silent Hill 2: Remastered, fans asked Bloober Team to remake the first and third generation games in the series. What they didn’t know, however, was that the Bloober Team had already started work on the remake of Silent Hill 1.
Dusk Golem, a well-known uncle who focuses on horror games, recently tweeted that “Silent Hill 1: Remake” has been in development for about three years. He further said that the game is scheduled to be released in 2027, so the overall development cycle is 5 years.
Considering that the current development cycle of 3A games is 3-5 years, and “Silent Hill 1: Remake” is likely to continue to use the Unreal 5 engine, it is more reasonable to release it in 2027.
